NEW DATE: Adult Field Trip - Muttart Conservatory

NEW DATE: Join us Wednesday, March 12 for an adults-only field trip to the Muttart Conservatory! 

AGES: 18+

DEPARTURE LOCATION: Town of Bon Accord office building, 5025 50th Ave. 

COST: $35 per person, includes round trip bus transportation and entry to the conservatory is included in the registration fee. 

DEADLINE TO REGISTER AND PAY: Tues, January 28. No refunds for cancellations or no-shows.

Minimum 18 people for event to take place.

TIMELINE

• 6:00 p.m. sharp (please arrive early!): Depart Town of Bon Accord office
• 6:45 p.m.: Arrive at Conservatory and explore! Some ideas include:
  • Explore the pyramids - The pyramids feature more that 700 species of plants in 3 climate-controlled biomes! The feature pyramid will be "Mars at the Muttart" (see below). 
  • Shop the gift store (extra $$) or window shop for free!
  • Enjoy coffee, dessert, or snacks at Café Bloom (extra $$)
• 9:00 p.m.: Depart Conservatory
• 9:45 p.m.: Arrive at Town of Bon Accord office

Mars at the Muttart

The Feature Pyramid will be “Mars at the Muttart”.  "Starting January 11, get transported to another planet with Luke Jerram’s Mars. Jerram's previous installations, Gaia and Museum of the Moon awed guests and filled them with wonder.

Measuring 7 metres in diameter and glowing, Luke Jerram’s Mars features detailed NASA imagery of the Martian surface. Suspended from the apex of the Feature Pyramid, Mars will be surrounded by bright red plants including Bromeliads, Begonias and other bizarre botanicals that are out of this world. Soft seating throughout the pyramid will allow for an immersive experience, which can be enjoyed during the day or night.
