Details for Saturday, August 8, 2026
- Line up and formation will begin at 8:30 am.
- Line up will start along 47th Avenue. This is the service road in front of Petro-Canada and Golden City Bistro (the hotel building).
- Once the service road is full, line up can continue in the hotel parking lot.
- There will be a parking lot attendant to help with formation.
- PLEASE DO NOT park directly in front of the hotel.
- Once you are in formation, please proceed to the parade check in table, which will be located along 47th Avenue, on the sidewalk in front of the hotel.
- Parade will begin at 10:00 am and make its way through town, delighting residents and visitors alike with vibrant sights and sounds.
Parade Safety Rules
- All individuals riding on vehicles or floats must remain seated or use appropriate handrails or safety devices to prevent falls. No riding on hoods, roofs, trailer edges, or unsecured positions.
- Trailers must have proper hitching, safety chains, and be in good working condition.
- This is a family-friendly event; all behavior and float decorations must be appropriate.
- Candy may be tossed gently toward spectators, ensuring it lands well away from the parade route.
- Water balloons, water blasters, and similar devices are strictly prohibited.
- Anyone operating or riding a motorcycle, bicycle, ATV, scooter, skateboard, or similar vehicle must wear a helmet.
- All drivers must hold a valid driver’s license.
- Vehicles must travel at a slow, steady parade pace to allow spectators to view each entry.
- Avoid abrupt starts and stops. Unsafe maneuvers such as racing, burnouts, wheelies, or doughnuts are not permitted.
- Maintain a safe and consistent distance from the entry ahead of you.
- Stay alert for walking participants in the parade.
- Jumping on or off a moving float or vehicle is strictly prohibited.
- Weather preparedness: Participants should be prepared for weather conditions (heat, cold, rain). Event organizers may modify or cancel the parade if conditions become unsafe.
Parade Rules for Pets
- Pets are permitted but must be handled by an experienced person.
- All pets must be properly restrained and have access to water.
- Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their animals.
- Aggressive animals are not permitted and will be removed.
Parade Rules for Horses
- Riders must maintain full control of their horses at all times. Unruly horses will be removed.
- Horses must be accustomed to crowds, loud noises (e.g., sirens and bands), banners, and paved surfaces.
- Riding with other (preferably experienced) horses is strongly recommended.
- Maintain a safe distance (typically 20–50 feet) between entries to prevent crowding or kicking.
- Performing tricks or stopping along the route is not permitted.
- Riders must be prepared to exit the parade route if a horse becomes stressed.
- Approved riding helmets are recommended for all riders and required for those under 18.
- Arrive early to allow horses time to settle before the parade begins.
- Mounting or dismounting along the parade route is not allowed.
